A partnership with United Way of Alabama. Dialing 2-1-1 connects you to a trained operator 24/7 who has access to a variety of services in your area. This service is used as a starting point to connect you with many different kinds of support programs. 2-1-1 Connects Alabama is designed to assist families from all walks of life, but is particularly targeted to work with the elderly, people with disabilities, and those with low incomes. Resources categories include: -Clothing -Disaster and Emergency Alerts -Educational Services -Employment Assistance -Family Support -Food Assistance -Healthcare Services -Homeless Services -Housing -Mental Health -Military and Veteran Services -Re-entry Services -Senior Services -Substance Abuse -Suicide Prevention -Women’s Health Services Help is available either by calling 211 or by texting your zip code to 898-211. Specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Important: Walk-in services are NOT available. You must call or text to receive service.
